Product weight as an attribute - be able to set this as show/hide

Some Merchants use the weight to decide which shipping method the order will receive, this weight isn't necessarily the weight of the item so they don't want this to appear on the front end of their shop. They, therefore, want the option to be able to hide this from a Buyer.
