Easier Delivery Methods

I wanted to set up free delivery if a customer spends £50 on a specific range of products, but at present you can either do free delivery based on products ordered OR the cart amount and not both which is a shame as I now have to offer free delivery on all orders over £50 which I didn't want to do!

We were told this can be achieved by using the 'discount management' feature however it is not always without its flaws and doesn't work as expected. Would be better to have a separate special delivery rule in each product edit page with settings to include cart value or weight or both and maybe could override other delivery rules. The current discount system and delivery rules do not always come together for customers needs.
