Delete Unused and Suggested Custom Product Attributes

Within a product > Attributes
When clicking on Custom Attribute Name to assign a custom attribute, there are so many suggestions coming up and it is so messy. We only use 5 of the 20+ that come up everytime and this can be confusing and time consuming.
This Custom Attribute needs to be something that can be maintained by the store owner. We need to be able to remove the suggestions and delete attributes we don't require or use.
Also if you want to remove one that you have created yourself by mistake, currently you cannot.
This is so messy.
