Drop Down List Option To Enable A Hidden Message Text Box When Selected

It would be useful when using a drop down list option to have the ability when the option is chosen i.e for gift wrapping that a text box message option is then automatically enabled and made visible for the customer to add a gift card message for the gift wrapping. If the gift wrapping option is not selected the gift card message textbox remains hidden\not visible. See attached jpg as an example from another website of before selecting gift wrap and after selecting it.

This is crucial for us. It is adding a lot of work to our customer support as customer enters gift wrap text, but doesn't click the extra payment. We then have to put the order on hold, contact the customer etc . The net result is poor feedback.
