Fixed amount discount off the total cost (including delivery) and not just the subtotal
Have the option for a fixed amount discount to be taken off the final amount paid by the customer, and not just off the subtotal with delivery charges then added subsequently. At present, if a customer has a £20 discount, and buys an item for £19 + £3 delivery, the discount takes the subtotal to £0, and then £3 delivery is added - so they have to pay £3. Instead they should have to pay £2 - £19 + £3 minus £20. The option to make the latter possible would be good.

Peter StockdaleTo further compound the problem... if the value of their basket qualifies them for free delivery, and they then apply the voucher and the subtotal becomes less than the threshold, they then have to pay delivery charges. So depending on the delivery charges and value of the voucher they could theoretically have to pay more if they use a voucher than if they don't!
Free delivery over £49 (normally £6.95)
Cart subtotal = £50. Delivery = £0. Total = £50
Or
Cart subtotal = £50. Discount voucher for £5. Cart subtotal now £45. Delivery now £6.95. Total = £51.95
