advanced inventory
I sell the same product under different names in differnet categories . Is there is an option in advanced invertory menager to enable or add option where the stock is controlled by the assigned product code and not by the name of each product? for example a headlight bulb that fits different make / models , i dont need to controll stock for each make / model If its the same product i can assign it in stock with a single product code .

Eve Bolan AdminHi James, I've marked this Suggestion as 'not planned' as you should be able to use the Product Attributes feature to add Custom Attributes to your Products - the same Product being sold under different names is not considered best practice, and by using Custom Attributes, this will resolve your issue. The Guide for Custom Attributes is here: https://support.ekm.com/support/solutions/articles/44001095593 but I'd strongly suggest getting in contact with the Customer Support Team who will be able to advise the best way to add the Custom Attributes to your Products. :)

JamesWith an example of custom atributes I do not see on what
way it can help in advanced stock control and i don't know how to combine it together.
Let me give you another example. this is only an example
Someone is selling car wipers - and has them cataloged according to the length of the wiper and mount.
And, for example, the wiper with produckt code HR320 is for Mazda 6 and Mercedes C-class. I keep them in one box in the warehouse
Having them in stock under one product code HR320, I know the exact qty of the product I have left.
I do not have to create a separate product codes and control the stock for mazda6 hr320 and mercedes hr320
and then add up and know how much product code hr320 is left in stock .
That is why I think that advanced stock control by product code is a better solution than stock for every product listed on the shop
and it will work for those who have only unique products and for those who sell something that is compatible with different brand/model -

Eve Bolan AdminHi James, again, the best thing for you to do is to contact the Customer Support Team. Give them examples of your Products, and they will advise the best way to display these to keep your stock control in check and also make it easy for customers to locate using Customer Filters within your Categories. :)
