Manage customs requirements for exporting to the EU
The EU now requires VAT/tax to be paid on all deliveries to EU customers. Deliveries without the tax paid are held at customs and often disappear. We struggle to export to the EU as a result and encourage our customers to use our Etsy page because Etsy handles the customs declaration and tax for us. We would like to be able to manage exports to the EU direct from the EKM page.
To pay this tax you have to have an office in the EU and an IOSS number. We do not expect EKM to do this. But there are a number of UK providers who offer a service by which you can use their IOSS number for exports to the EU and they pay tax for you. They offer an open API which records sales to the EU, calculates the necessary tax and pays that on our behalf. There is a fee per transaction.
Integrating an API to do this would be faster and easier than developing a bespoke system from scratch. We would like EKM to add this service.

We feel your pain Mark as we are having a load of issues with customs, we have suspended sales to Ireland and Poland as these tend to cause the most problems, but it is now getting unmanagable.
