Total quantity added to PDF invoices and back office orders

Would it be possible to add a total quantity of items on to PDF order forms and also on the back office orders.
This would be a great help for crosschecking orders for drop-shipping purposes and also for customers who order in large quantities to cross check the total items they have received with the total on their invoice.
