Option for delivery method to calculated by Volume
Many customers are opting for a volume-based delivery charge as opposed to weight. Ideally, there needs to be a volumetric option for these customers.
The delivery settings could have a toggle to select weight or volume based on (LengthxWidthxDepth)

Jonathan LimbertAt the moment there is no way to offer postage on small parcels and large letters without overcharging by £7.18 or losing £7.18
1
USA 500g small parcel £18.68
USA 500g large letter £11.50
This is a £7.18 difference in price due to the size... not the weight.
I'm not sure that the title "Option for delivery method to calculated by Volume" describes the situation with clarity. It doesn't mention four important keywords "postage" "shipping" "size" or "cost". Maybe why only 5 votes . -

Zoe SeedFor our business we definitely need to have the option to charge postage by size not weight. We are having to subside our postage costs on larger items. Royal Mail charge by size as well as weight, I can't understand why this isn't already an option.

Zeeshan Rashid Mergedplease add also feature dimensions of the product to the current weight only
as the shipping company charges differently for unusual or awkward length, width or height. -

RichardThis would make life so much easier for us we ship everything from small parcels to 2m + boxes that all weigh the same but cost vastly different amounts- we already use the Shipping_Length attribute so would be great to build a delivery method around that like we do for price, weight and postcodes.

ArvindThis needs to be specified properly, otherwise it won't get many votes. I've been working around this manually for many years and I definitely lose a lot of international customers as a result
