Ability to offer reduced prices on product bundles

I would have thought one of the big opportunities when offering product bundles is to increase revenue whilst offering savings. Resulting in greater value to the customer, and greater revenues through bigger basket values. Currently, after adding the products to the product bundle, it simply tots up what each product is in the bundle, and that's offered as the fixed price. There's no opportunity to offer a discount as part of this process. Which boggles my mind. There is no further value in product bundles, than simply it saving a bit of time browsing the website. When it could be used as a real powerful differentiator, if only the option to reduce the quoted price on the bundle was offered?
