Global Product Option Colour & Image Swatch

The option to add colour and image swatches (all type of options to be honest) as a block and then assign the option block to products rather than them being on each individual product. Currently we have the same product options on thousands of products and if we need to change, add or remove an option then we currently have to change thousands of products rather than just changing it in one place that would automatically update the products that the options are assigned to. This should be also available for adding blocks of text or html and any other type of options that you currently allow on a product.
