  Gift cards, where users can pick an amount, and it automatically generates a code for them, would be VERY useful for gifts.
  
  Although it HAS to be automated, as no one wants to sit there making and emailing codes for what could be a small amount of money.

  Gift vouchers were in the pipeline years ago, as was a complete overhaul of the discount management system.

  The current workaround to this issue is time intensive - each gift card would need its own discount to work effectively, or if they are contained within one discount the codes cannot be used in conjunction with one another:
  
  You create a separate discount to the value of £xx to represent the credit or giftcard, you would then set this with a unique single use code, and applicable for the entire basket.

  Some customers also use loyalty points - but those using Klarna can't as it is incompatible

  the problem with using voucher codes using the existing system means you get problems with free delivery options and minimum spend requirements, for example a min £10 order and someone uses a £10 gift voucher it will then say the order is under the minimum value when it isn't :(

  The work around currently is very time intensive and also doesn't work with glitches - Got to use it in one go, doesn't include postage etc

  Sometimes a customer returns a product and wants a credit note rather than a refund - in fact when you think about it, that works out better for us, the sellers! It would be great to be able to assign a credit note to a customer, so that when they check out they are asked if they want to use their discount on that order.

  This is more than urgent now for small independent businesses during these extreme times. Please please put this up there on the list to sort urgently. The way it is at the moment is not feasible to advertise vouchers. It’s been going on far too long as you can see by this single thread

  Simply having the ability to add credit to the customers account would be a great feature to have. I know we can add Loyalty points that they can spend but that's a bit of a work around that shouldn't be necessary. Also it can't be used towards the cost of delivery which in a few cases may be desirable, so the option to allow credit to be used for delivery and handling would also be helpful.

  I've spent too much time trying to get a workaround on this but I can't because of Delivery costs and required information for deliveries in fields that don't apply for Gift cards. Sumup works with Shopify and WooCommerce. Sales of gift cards would definitely increase sales through my shop. Please do it ASAP. At this moment in time, gift vouchers, especially given that we're looking squarely at Christmas would make the difference between business success and failure. Please please please do this

  Agree with Nicky, please can we have an update on this. It's been on the list for over 2 years now and more than ever independent businesses need this to help with cash flow. Please EKM repond!

  Please can we make sure the gift voucher includes the cost of delivery. I was told to use the discount management as a work around but it didn't include the delivery so people had to still pay for it separately even though the gift voucher amount would have covered the whole order

  An up-to-date gift voucher system is urgently needed .... essential for most businesses these days and not something EKM customers should have to adopt a manual, time consuming "work around" to make it work!!

  I can't believe this thread is still running almost 3 years after it was created. A Gift Voucher / Credit Note is a very basic requirement for any business. Beginning to think this is just too hard a feature for EKM to to add into their shop sales workflow.
