Stock Control for individual items not all
Stock control for individual items would be great, please. I imagine there are others on here like ourselves, who, should they sell out, can easily restock with an order to their supplier. However, this feature would be great for our clearance stock which has now been discontinued. We sell products with a lot of variants in sizes and colours so this would be brilliant, to say which is still in stock and which is sold out of each item. Other products just don't need the stock control.
If it was an option to tick, on the variants page, such as "add stock control" then that would be brilliant.

I only stock control certain listings on the website and the others I don't need to. -

Rebecca Waite MergedSome customers use drop shippers and their own stock to populate their shop with products, and global stock rules result in them having to turn stock control off to prevent issues.
It would be useful to have an option for products to be excluded from stock control so that items that they stock themselves can be used with stock control and prevent overselling. -

Jonathon Wright MergedCurrently we have the option for In stock and Out of stock based on the level of stock.
We rely heavily on sales of pre order items and items which are out of stock but can be ordered in.
It would be massively helpful if we could also add other product availability options:
-pre order, and
-available to order.

Stock control all round needs to be improved.
Please can we have 3 options in stock control.
1. Include in stock control - this is for the current standard stock feature.
2. Not Held in stock - for items that are 'buy to order', with a customisable lead time.
3. Always in stock - for items that don't ever sell out, made to order, labour charges. etc. -

Keeping the stock control as it is so anybody already using it as it is doesn't get effected.
But adding a drop down menu to be able to custom fit extra options as above.
At the moment I can't turn on stock control as some of my stock is "virtual"and I order it in if i generate a sale.
And I have a seperate spreadsheet that I have to manually adjust with stock levels and I wouldn't need to do this anymore.

One huge reason for needing this option is to prevent customers from bulk buying and then reselling exclusive products at a much higher price.
This is happening a lot and dedicated customers are losing out because stock gets purchased elsewhere in bulk from brick and mortar stores and from online stores and then they resell it on places like eBay for double or triple to price just to rip customers off and gain profits. -

Sarah MergedBeing able to restrict certain products to 1 or 2 per customer would be so beneficial. In the current covid situation I am finding that some craft shops are struggling to stock certain products. If I then manage to source the in demand product I want to prevent one person buying all my stock of that product and then reselling at a higher price. This is annoying my loyal customers that they cannot buy the item from me when I manage to stock it.

If there were a button to select on the product details for us sellers that will ask 'Stop Allowing Purchases' once sold out will help future customers to know that we cannot sell them the item(s) before we have the chance to hide or remove the product from the website. Will also be helpful to items we are not putting in the sale but we will no longer be ordering in again.

Dan MergedReally need the ability to limit the amount of certain items each customer can buy. Whilst I place text on the product listing this is easily ignored and then have the hassle of cancelling and refunding orders.

Nel MergedOnce again please look into implementing this simple feature. It would also help with the issue of overselling when stock moves at a very fast rate. I do limited drops and the rush of people buying at one time is already a lot but add in the fact that people can chuck 7 limited edition items into a basket when there's only 30 available means that's the system struggles to calculate the stock as others continue to add to their basket. If my customers can only add 1 qty of said product into their basket there will be less chaos.

Bel MergedThis is a very basic feature that is on most web providers such a Shopify but STILL hasn't been implemented here. We need a way to restrict quantity on individual items. This stops resellers from being able to purchase multiple limited ed items when they drop. Right now the only workaround is to limited the entire cart total but this than restricts a buyer as to only being able to buy that one item or two items max - ruining other potential sales. This is especially an issue for international buyers who don't want to pay for international shipping twice because they have to do two separate orders.

Doug Merged"Allow Purchase" For Out of stock is needed when making items " made to order "( as they are not normally stocked! ) But by ticking this box,, ( Features, Stock Control) it is persently only store wide implementation.
So people can have a cart multiple items on order that some are TRUELY out of stock, and have to cancel WHOLE order. One cannot temp hide other out of stock items as may only be temp, or merely a variable eg one size. So rest of sizes still in stock ( hint please also implement this earlier request

By making the "Allow Purchase" granular to the product level, this should allow " made to order " items to be purchased when out of stock, but other normal core stock in rest of store set to not permit to be purchased. -

Claire Upton MergedWe have a large product range (circa 1000) and each product range has different leads times and of course different volumes of sale. some products we can hold stock of 10,000 because we have to ship from Asia and others we only stock say 5 as they're slow sellers or too expensive an item to buy in many for stock. Having different low stock alerts for each product would be so useful, as at present, this feature isn't of any use at all.

Darren Woolway MergedI want to be able to apply stock control on specific products, not on all products. At the moment if you enable stock control it turns it on for every item. Here is an example, I want to run a Christmas promotion to get rid of old stock t-shirts, there are a limited quantity available in different sizes, so I want to control stock of these items. For me to be able to do this at the moment I would need to stock check every single item we offer and input this data, otherwise it sets the quantity to just 1, we sell small accessories like bolts so if it only shows 1 in stock we won't sell anything. It is not possible at this time to perform a full stock check to be able to facilitate this. Also some items are always in stock as we manufacture them, therefore we don't need stock control for these items as they are always available. WooCommerce currently offers the ability to do this, it would be nice if our EKM shop did this too.
